I am SUPER excited with the progress we are making with Hope Handicrafts. As those of you who know me and read my blog would be aware, I set up the sewing program at Human and Hope Association in April 2013, with two aims: to empower Cambodians to move out of poverty with a skill, and to develop a sustainable source of income for the organisation.
We are called Hope Handicrafts because when you make a purchase you are providing hope. Hope to the women in Cambodia who make the handicrafts, hope to Human and Hope Association who use the proceeds to provide programs to their community, and hope to the people in Cambodia.
Our handicrafts are made by Cambodian women. These women have studied in the 10-month sewing program at Human and Hope Association in Siem Reap, Cambodia. They make these handicrafts at their homes, enabling them to watch over their children at the same time. All our seamstresses earn a fair wage, receive constant development opportunities from Human and Hope Association, and take out interest-free microfinance loans to purchase sewing machines.
We have some new handicrafts available on our online store, so check them out below and head to the Hope Handicrafts store to purchase some today!
