Walk to Cambodia with me in April 2020!

Are you looking for a fun way to be social and get FIT? This year, we challenge you to WALK TO CAMBODIA!

Not literally, ha!

In our second annual Walk To Cambodia fundraiser, we invite individuals and corporate teams to challenge themselves and their colleagues by making a commitment to their fitness and their social conscience. During the month of April, participants will walk at least 10,000 steps a day, and raise funds for the Human and Hope Association. The goal is for participants to collectively walk the whole distance from Australia to Cambodia. That is approximately 9,572,640 steps!

Not only will your waistline be tighter and mental health be sharper, but for every $120 you raise, you support another child in Cambodia to get education they otherwise would not receive.

The more funds you raise, the more children’s places you enable.

“My experience participating in the inaugural Walk to Cambodia was rewarding for a number of reasons. Not only did I see a remarkable improvement in my fitness, but it kick-started my weight loss journey. Furthermore, my personal contribution felt so much more meaningful as part of a collaborative effort to achieve a broader communal goal.” – Lisa D

“Being a part of Walk to Cambodia last year was so inspiring. Not only did the funds that I raised go to a great cause but it really motivated to get active and increase my fitness. Looking forward to participating again in 2020!” – Karina K

“I loved participating in the inaugural Walk to Cambodia because I was personally able to help those people who need it, through an organisation that values sustainable futures. And of course, it was a great motivation to be active!” – Clarissa S

We are doing this because Cambodia remains the poorest ASEAN country with 35% still living in multidimensional poverty, despite recent economic growth. Children and young people under 19 in Cambodia are generally amongst the poorest and constitute 45% of the total poor (UNDP 2018). While these figures may seem overwhelming, we can play our part in changing these statistics.

This is such a great opportunity to focus on your health and wellbeing. We have social walks organised across Australia, and fun badges that you can collect as your step count increases. And of course, you will feel pretty amazing raising funds to alleviate poverty through education!
